Saratov. Conditional fire was successfully extinguished. Scheduled fire-fighting training was held at OAO Saratovneftegaz (producing subsidiary of OAO NK RussNeft) Bagayevsky oil production department Oktyabrsky oil preliminary treatment facility in Tatischevsky district of Saratov region.

Such systematic drills are carried out to maintain the fire-fighting and emergency response readiness and teamwork of Russia’s Emergency Ministry Samara region fire-fighting departments and voluntary fire-fighting brigades of the company’s divisions.
Based on the drill’s scenario, a tank was damaged by hazardous repair works which caused a leak and fire. The “fire” was put under control by Oktyabrsky voluntary fire-fighting squad, but despite the active response by the squad, the fire “spread” to the oil tank and became dangerous for the next tank.
The rescue then involved participation of Russia’s Emergency ministry Federal fire-fighting department Saratov region brigade No. 60 (Tatischevo based), ZATO Svetly fire-fighting squad and military unit No. 89553 fire-fighting squad. The “fire” was extinguished through joint actions using foam generating agents and water jets to cool down the nearby tanks.
The drill was aimed at joint activity practice between OAO Saratovneftegaz and Tatischevo fire-fighting division in emergencies at the company’s hazardous facilities.
This training was the second in 2014. 16 similar drills overall are scheduled for OAO Saratovneftegaz facilities till the year end. Industrial safety is one of the unconditional priorities of OAO NK RussNeft and OAO Saratovneftegaz. The company’s management is sure that none of the operation tasks may be recognized completed if people were injured or environment was damaged.
