OAO Varioganneft held a comprehensive emergency response training
Raduzhny, KhMAO. OAO Varioganneft, subsidiary of OAO NK RussNeft, held a scheduled complex training for localization and response to an emergency situation involving firefighting brigades and rescue professionals.
The training scenario was a loss of containment of 5000 m3 Tank No.1 spilling about 3850 m3 of oil on an area of 1 300 m2 with potential inflammation of the gas/oil mixture.
Joint activities and emergency reinstatement works resulted in localization of the intended gas/oil spill and the inflammation danger mitigated, according to Varioganneft press-service.
Such regular trainings help to ensure readiness and coordination of operation of emergency response teams of Varioganneft, firefighting brigades of Samotlor firefighting division, professional rescue squad of Nizhnevartovsk Regional Centre for Emergency, Rescue and Environmental Operations and other competent services during their response to natural and industrial emergencies.
The training was followed by detailed analysis of all the actions by observers from KhMAO-Yugra Emergency Department who positively assessed the company’s personnel readiness to respond to various multifactorial emergency situations. The performed training proved the high level of interaction between the Varioganneft rescue team and Emergency response divisions.
“We managed to practice once again the emergency scenarios with maximum negative impact over the company and the region. This was not a game but the most important and priority direction of our work which allows to master automatic response to emergency situations, - Alexandr Tropin, first deputy director general – chief engineer, stressed. – Each emergency situation has its specificity and particularities, and our task is to study and provide for all scenarios. We must know how to respond to various impacts of emergency situations. Industrial safety is the most important issue”.
