OAO Varioganneft produced 1.6 million tons of oil in the 8 months of 2014
Raduzhny, KhMAO. OAO Varioganneft, subsidiary of OAO NK RussNeft, produced 1.6 million tons of oil at the fields of Variogan oil block in the 8 months of 2014.
The oil production level was achieved by the company due to a wide range of well works performed to increase the oil recovery. The most effective types of the wellwork are drilling of new wells and hydraulic fracturing. For example, there were only 37 hydraulic fracturing works at Variogan fields in 2013 which added 43 thousand tons of oil production, while the oil production addition in the first 8 months of 2014 is 106 thousand tons based on 86 hydraulic fracturing works.
Special attention in the current period was given by Varioganneft specialists to application of up-to-date technologies. For instance, horizontal drilling at Zapadno-Varioganskoye field to reach Jurassic deposits. The flow rate of the first well was over 250 thousand tons of free flowing oil per day.
The plan for Q4 2014 provides for introduction of side-tracking which will allow to “reanimate” old shutdown wells some of them being closed for many years. This technology will allow to obtain higher oil flow rates and develop hard-to-recover reserves.
Besides, the company also implements programs for the injectivity profile leveling, conversion and workover of injection wells in the current period in order to ensure compensation of liquids production with injection and greater extraction of slow-moving oil reserves.
All performed activities will allow Varioganneft to stabilize the hydrocarbons production volumes and create a robust trend of the operational indicators growth.
