OAO NAK AKI-OTYR EMPLOYEES EXERCISE EMERGENCY RESPONSE AT NIZHNE-SHAPSHINSKOYE OILFIELD

Such exercises are held at the explosive and fire hazardous production facilities of Aki-Otyr once in two years, in conformity with RussNeft cohesive policy on industrial safety, labor and environmental protection. Within the framework of the drills, coordinated efforts and upgrade of skills of the senior staff, specialists, structure divisions, management bodies and commission on emergency situations were implemented. Techniques and methods of the accident management have been practiced, and the reliability of communication and warning system has been tested.

The practical implementation of the emergency management actions is an important part of personnel training. Undertaking such actions in OAO NAK Aki-Otyr brings positive outcome in respect of training of the employees and upgrading their skills in upset conditions. Under the drills, all the actions of the participants were coordinated by emergency management centre of the commission for the prevention and elimination of emergency situations and ensuring fire safety. According to drills scenario, at the well pad No.5 of Nizhne-Shapshinskoye Oilfield due to the loss of containment at four wells, the emergency spill of 1.5 thousand cub.m of oil occurred, with oil having spilled over well pad bunds.

Industrial safety is a foremost priority of the PJSC “RussNeft” and pursuant to that, the Company strives for complete elimination of accidents and occupational injuries through the compliance with labour legislation and industrial safety  requirements, preventions of the potentially dangerous operations of the personnel and  avoidance of the situations that may cause the emergency.  All subsidiaries and divisions conduct their work aimed at adherence to industrial safety principles by all staff members, including senior ones.
