Leonid Zakharov Street was solemnly opened in Raduzhny on August 30. The street was named after a respectable oilman Leonid Grigoryevich Zakharov who was the head of OAO Varioganneft from 01.03.1991 to 04.08.2010.
Leonid Zakharov was among the originators of the major enterprise. He was appointed to the Head of Technology Department for Varioganneft Oil and Gas Development. Zakharov became a president of the company 10 years on. He had been supporting Variogan and Raduzhny for 35 years until his death which occured on 4 August 2010.
Leonid Zakharov had numerous merits and awards. He was an Honored Geologist of Russia, an honored worker of Ministry of Energy of Russian Federation, and was awarded a medal “For the Development of Resources and Oil & Gas Industry in Western Siberia”. He was appointed to receiving the Honor Award by the Order of the President “On State Awards of Russian Federation” dated 08 March 2008 for outstanding contribution to the development of fuel and energy industry as well as his conscientious work. He was likewise an honorary citizen of Raduzhny.
“The Street named after Zakharov highlights all the merits of Leonid Grigoryevich rendered to the town and the residents (many of them are Varioganneft employees).
