RUSSNEFT WILL START DEVELOPMENT OF THE BAZHENOV FORMATION IN KHMAO WITH 40-50 MILLION TONS OF OIL RESERVES
Moscow. RussNeft oil company controlled by Mikhail Gutseriev intends to commence production drilling in the Bazhenov Formation of Sredne-Shapshinskaya Group of fields in KhMAO in 2017.
The plan is to drill seven wells. The reserves of Bazhenov Formation of Sredne-Shapshinskaya Group are estimated at 40-50 million tons.
Sredne-Shapshinskaya Group of fields is located in Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous District. The reserves of Bazhenov Formation are classified as non-conventional and occur at the depth of 2-3 thousand metres.
The license for the fields development is held by Aki-Otyr which was integrated in RussNeft structure in 2005. The company develops fields of Shapshinskaya Group (Verkhne-Shapshinskoye, Sredne-Shapshinskoye, Nizhne-Shapshinskoye fields), as well as Peschanoye, Ovalnoye and Arjanovskoye fields.
