Moscow. Businessman and philanthropist, founder of Charity Foundation “SAFMAR”, Mikhail Gutseriev has been awarded a Letter of Acknowledgments from Mayor of Moscow for the implementation of the charity project “Find me, mamma”, intended to assist orphaned children.
This award constitutes significant recognition of Mikhail Gutseriev`s valuable contribution to the social projects of high priority, intended to improve the lives of orphans and children left without parental care, as well as to prevent child abandonment and to promote the institution of the foster family in Russia. The founders of the “Find me, mamma” projects are the Charity Fund “SAFMAR”, the “Nikolay Rastorguev Charity Foundation” and International News Agency “Russia Today”. The program, which enables orphans to find their potential parents and foster families, is supported by the Ombudsman for Children under the President of Russia, Pavel Astakhov and the Department of Labor and Social Protection of Moscow Government.
Children from three children`s homes, incorporated into the Centre for Promotion of Family Education “Our Home”, were involved into the project. Each child was video recorded and these videos were published in the special section of the program on the RIA NOVOSTI website. Each of these “living passports” is a vivid and touching image of the child, his grieves, joys, hopes and dreams. In the first month of program functioning only, six children have been adopted.
The further expanding of geographical coverage of the project would help many children to find a family, would promote family forms of child placement, attract wide audience`s attention to the child abandonment and assist with the family placement of children left without parental care.
