OAO Varioganneft has conducted integrated emergency response drills

The scheduled integrated drills on containment and management of emergency situations have been conducted on the territory of Oil Processing and Pumping Shop of the Varioganneft Department of Oil and Gas Processing. Specialists from the Centre for Rescue and Environmental Operations, as well as fire-fighting units were involved in the drills.
According to the drill scenario, sudden loss of containment of the vertical steel tank No.6 with 10 000 c.m. capacity led to oil spill of 3 850 м3 on the area of 1 400 м2, with risk of inflammation of oil and gas mixture.
Conducted emergency response and restoration operations resulted in containment of the simulated oil spill, eliminating the threat of inflammation.  Such systematic exercises are meant to maintain the synchronized work of the outsourced firefighting units of Varioganneft and brigades of Samotlorskiy fire guard garrison, as well as of other relevant service teams when undertaking necessary measures to deal with   natural or technogenic emergencies. Upon completion of the drills, detailed analysis of each participant`s performance has been carried out. The observers, who represented Chief Directorate of the MES of Russia for KhMAO-Yugra and municipal administration of Raduzhny, gave positive evaluation of the Company`s preparedness for complex multi-factor emergency. The conducted drills highlighted the high level of interaction between outsourced fire units of Varioganneft and relevant teams of the MES of Russia.
The General Director of Varioganneft Yuri Nishkevich emphasized that such drills are surely necessary and important.  All the factors should be taken into consideration when producing oil. In addition, each staff member should be aware how to behave in any possible emergency situation. Such large-scale drills and exercises are conducted in Varioganneft in compliance with Federal Law and with action plan for the current year for civil defense, emergency management, fire and water safety. The systematic approach of Varioganneft to the emergency prevention for industrial, administrative and dwelling facilities enables the Company to meet all of the legal requirements for fire safety, civil defense and emergency response.
