OAO Varioganneftcarries implements the program for side-tracking technology introduction
Raduzhny, KhMAO. OAO Varioganneft, subsidiary of RussNeft, successfully implements the program for introduction of the side-tracking technology at the fields of Variogan oil block.
Well 4152 was put into operation early in May at Varioganskoye field with a daily production rate of 65 tons of oil after application of the side-tracking technology.
The program for introduction of the side-tracking technology at Variogan oil block fields has been being implemented since last year end. The company has reanimated 6 wells with an overall daily production rate of 296 tons since then, according to the press-service of the company.
Application of the side-tracking technology allows to increase the oil production at brown fields and the hydrocarbons recovery factor as well as resume production from the wells which couldn’t be returned to the production stock by other methods. Side-tracking allows to develop previously inaccessible formations and produce difficult oil which was impossible before. The company intends to resume operation of idle 30 wells during this year by applying side-tracking which will add production by 121.7 thousand tons of oil.
