OAO Varioganneft prepares for the flooding period.

Raduzhny, KhMAO. OAO Varioganneft, subsidiary of RussNeft, carries out preparations for the water flooding season.

OAO Varioganneft implements a complex of activities to ensure accident-free operation during the coming flood.
The company has developed a comprehensive action plan to ensure reliable operation of the oil field equipment, facilities and buildings during the snow melting period for the purpose of the environment protection. The plan details actions of all services responsible for operability of all the facilities of Variogan oil block. Flooding committees were set up in the company to ensure timely execution of the planned activities.
The company reviewed the potentially flooded areas and developed activities for delivery of emergency equipment and materials to the corresponding sites. Emergency power supply is provided for based on diesel power generators.
The company inspects the bunds around the oil production facilities and repairs them where needed to prevent contamination of lakes and rivers with ice water. Hazardous facilities are also inspected jointly with the emergency department.
Before the flood, the company tested the flood emergency alarm systems, held ad-hoc safety briefings with the oil field personnel in all the departments, arranged around-o’clock duty by responsible people, established liaison with the local authorities and emergency department. Varioganneft’s plan provides for overall 75 activities to cope with the spring flood. Implementation of the developed action plan will allow the company to ensure normal operation conditions for the oil production process and mitigate any risk of emergency at Variogan block facilities during the flood period.
