OAO Varioganneft successfully implements the associated gas utilization program

OAO Varioganneft, subsidiary of OAO NK RussNeft, successfully implements the associated gas utilization program at the fields of Variogan oil block.
The gas utilization rate in OAO Varioganneft reached 95%. Reduction of flared gas was achieved by construction and start-up of new facilities of gas infrastructure.The major factor for the flared gas reduction was construction of a gas pipeline from Zapadno-Varioganskoye field First Water Knockout unit to Varioganskaya Compressor Station No.3 with a tie-in pipeline from the Booster Pump Station to the tie-in point via Roslavlskoye field. Start-up of the gas pipeline allowed to solve the issue of the associated gas utilization in two subsidiaries of OAO NK RussNeft: OAO Varioganneft and OAO MPK Aganneftegazgeologia. Therefore, it became possible to use gas for the residents of the autonomous district, in particular, Variogan boilers were converted to be fueled by gas. This helped to significantly reduce the heat energy rates and improve the environment conditions in Nizhnevartovsk region.
The associated gas utilization at the fields of Variogan oil block was also improved by the start-up of an oil gathering pipeline from Novo-Aganskoye field Well Pad No.9 to Varioganskoye field Booster Pump Station No.2 which allowed both to reduce the company’s expenses for the oil transport and to transport the oil produced at Novo-Aganskoye field to Booster Pump Station No.2 of Varioganskoye field where the associated gas is separated and supplied to OAO SiburTyumenGaz Compressor Station No.3.
The gas utilization enhancement program provides for a start-up of a new 4 MW gas boiler at Varioganskoye field. The main purpose of that facility will be to provide heat energy to the administrative and office building and tubing repair workshop. Besides, Valyuninskoye field system for power generation for own needs was upgraded. Start-up of the power generation complexes, equipped with gas-piston units, allowed to stop using diesel sets for power generation at the field. Thus, a number of tasks were addressed – minimization of expenditures on expensive fuel, achievement of 95% of the APG utilization and provision of power to Valyuninskoye field.
In general, development of the gas power generation, APG utilization and greater volume of gas for processing are among the priorities of Varioganneft.
