Shamil Basayev Threatens to the Authorities and Mikhail Gutseriev.

Basayev says that he is “not satisfied with the investigation of the Beslan tragedy”. He alleges that the seizure of the Beslan school was “provoked by North Ossetia’s special services”. According to him, the special services wanted to lure the rebels out of the shelter with the help of their agent who proposed to attack the government complex of North Ossetia in Vladikavkaz on the  6th of August 2004. However the rebels took the advantage of “the provided corridor for data collection” and attacked Beslan on the 1st of September.
Basayev is threatening to the businessman Mikhail Gutseriev. He doesn’t like his activities in Chechnya. Mikhail Gutseriev has recently built a lyceum school in Grozny for his own money. The new school has replaced School No 23 attended by Gutseriev long time ago and later destroyed by the rebels during the war time. Today it is a modern educational complex designed for 540 pupils. However due to shortage of educational institutions the school will be attended by twice as many children. And it is not the first donation made by Gutseriev to the Republic. The elders of Chechnya have decided to give his name to a street in one of the villages of the Republic. At the ceremonial opening of the school Mikhail Gutseriev promised that each year he would commission a new project in Chechnya. He also said he “believed that man with the ruble is stronger than man with the gun”. Basayev answered him with threats: “The man with the ruble will not stay unpunished”. 
Basayev says that Gutseriev “deceived the Mujahidins in Beslan having told them that there would be no assault. He also persuaded them in allowing the emergency ministry car with special service solders near the school building”. Basayev promises to take the “matter of Mikhail Gutseriev” to the autumn session of the Shariat court-martial and calls on people to inform his fellow-fighters  about the whereabouts of the businessman. “We shall return the blood of our brothers and sister into his home and to his relatives, at least the blood of the 32 Beslan shahids. We shall make him choke with his own blood and taste its bitterness” – said Basayev.
As for Russia’s authorities Basayev promises to organize terrorist attacks in Moscow, Volga region and the Urals. “This year we have opened a front in the Caucasus. Next year there will be fronts opened in Moscow, Volga region and the Urals,” – said the separatists’ leader.
