Basayev Denounces Special Services and Threatens a Businessman
As was expected, Shamil Basayev made his next statement published on the rebels’ site “The Caucasus Center”. According to him it was the special services of North Ossetia that pushed him to organize the terrorist action. Moreover Abd Allah Shamil promises new bloody terrorist acts in Moscow, Volga region and the Urals.
He said that beginning from spring 2004 the rebels had been leading on the special services, throwing misleading information via a double agent. The rebels pretended to be getting ready to attack the government complex in North Ossetia. According to the special services’ plan the takeover team was to be met at the entrance to Vladikavkaz and done away with.
“Beginning from the 31st of August a corridor was opened which was used for active data collection. We also used this corridor to enter Beslan having confused time and objective of the assault,” – said Basayev.
By tradition Federal Security Service made no comments.
“It was an inhuman act and no Moslem would have ever done anything of this sort,” – said President of Chechnya Alu Alkhanov talking to a correspondent of the Caucasian Knot site.
“One cannot help taking the words of the filicide terrorist for ravings of a madman,” – said RF Deputy Prosecutor General Nikolai Shepel talking to Interfax. He emphasized that the investigation had no data proving the implication of the special services in the seizure of the Beslan school.
Moreover Basayev addresses his most tough threats to Russia’s businessman Mikhail Gutseriev who along with the president of the Republic has recently opened a new school in Grozny built on his own money. The new school has replaced School No 23 once attended by Mikhail Gutseriev and later razed by the rebels. By the way it has been the first educational institution built in Grozny in the last fifteen years. For this support the elders of Chechnya have given the name of the businessman to a street in one of the villages of the Republic.
The terrorist is not sparing of accusations. He says that Gutseriev “armed and backed up Kadyrov and later Alkhanov, he deceived the Mujahidins in Beslan having persuaded them in allowing the Emergency Ministry car with special service solders near the building of the school”. Basayev threatens to make him “choke with his own blood and taste its bitterness”.
Moreover the terrorist promises to take the matter of Gutseriev to a session of the Shariat court-martial and calls on people to share the information available.
