RussNeft to Develop Oil Refining in Krasnodarsky Krai
Today a working meeting was held between the management of Oil and Gas Company RussNeft headed by Mikhail Gutseriev and administration of the Krasnodarsky krai. According to the information of the company’s press-service, the parties discussed mutually beneficial cooperation between the region and the holding company, outlined prospects for developing the company’s refining capacities over the Kuban territory.
In December 2005 RussNeft and shareholders of ‘Krasnodar Oil Refinery – Krasnodarekoneft’ ZAO holding a total of 75% shares at ‘Krasnodar Oil Refinery – Krasnodarekoneft’ ZAO came to an agreement in principle on the sale of the above shares to RussNeft. Beginning from January 2006 RussNeft assumed operational control over the association and its production activity. ‘Krasnodar Oil Refinery – Krasnodarekoneft’ ZAO produces high quality feed for petrochemistry. The refinery also makes diesel fuel meeting the requirements of Russian and international standards, as well as bitumen for road industry. The refinery is the country’s only producer of high density fuel for jet engines of T-1pp type.
The template capacity of the refinery is 3.1 million tons of crude oil a year.
Its proximity to the sea ports of the Krasnodarsky krai makes it commercially attractive and allows to create flexible logistics schemes for trading oil products. This year RussNeft is going to spend nearly RUR600 million for the development of the Krasnodar Refinery. With RussNeft in the region the tax proceeds of the enterprise to the budget of the Krasnodarsky krai are going to be doubled from RUR100 million a year to RUR200 million. Short and long-term projects on upgrading the refinery have been developed. In the nearest three months these projects will be submitted to the leadership of the region for consideration.
Governor of the Krasnodarsky krai Alexander Tkachov pointed out:
“We welcome with optimism the new Company in our region. We know RussNeft as a most dynamically developing company of Russia and are confident in successful and fruitful development of our relationship.”
“The Krasnodar Refinery along with Orsknefteorgsintez is the basis for development of the company’s refining sector. In this connection the successful and mutually beneficial cooperation with the leadership of the region is the best guarantee for efficient development and upgrading of the Krasnodar Refinery,” said President of RussNeft Mikhail Gutseriev.
Moreover, the President pointed out that the Company was ready to take part in social and charitable programs of the local community. Wherever RussNeft operates it renders great assistance to the communities in the context of cooperation agreements with the local administrations.
The priorities of the Company are charitable, educational, health and sport projects for which the Company assigns up to $50 million a year.
