Orsknefteorgsintez OAO, a subsidiary of Oil Company RussNeft OAO, has done replacement of the catalyst at its LG-35-11/300-95 reformer unit.
The new performance capabilities of the reformer unit which is the main producer of the blending fuel will allow to boost the production of high-octane gasolines and increase the efficiency of crude oil refining.
The replacement of the catalyst is an important stage in the implementation of the company’s oil refining sector development strategy aimed at changing over to the production of Euro-3 and Euro-4 standards. The total amount of the investments to be made in the upgrading of the equipment at the Orsk Refinery is expected to be about $7 million including $3 million allotted by RussNeft to the catalyst replacement project.
The press-service of RussNeft reports that the company’s business partner in this project was UOP (USA), a leader in the development of license materials used in oil refining, petrochemical and gas industries, and a producer of high-performance reforming catalysts.
