On September, 4-5 the 6th joint session of Russian-Arab Business Council (the RABC) will take place in St. Petersburg. The organizers point it out that over 20 heads of Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Arab countries, businessmen and presidents of leading Russian and foreign companies are invited to participate in the international forum. The Russian delegation of the forum will be headed by President of Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Russia Evgeniy Primakov and President of the RABC, Chairman of the Board of Directors of JSFC “Sistema” Mr. Vladimir Evtushenkov. President of Republic of Kalmykia Kirsan Ilumzhinov, President of Chechen Republic Allu Alkhanov, President of OAO Oil and Gas Company RussNeft Mikhail Gutseriev, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of Russia representatives will join the Russian delegation as well.
The Arab delegation will include Chairman of the Federation of the Chambers of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture in Arab countries Adnan Kassar, representatives of Chambers of Commerce and Industry in Saudi Arabia and United Arab Emirates, Lebanon, Yemen and other Arab countries.
In the framework of the forum the participants will discuss Russian-Arab economic and commercial relations today, key points of cooperation in high technology, energy and power, and metallurgy industry and mineral recourses as well.
Furthermore, the session will touch upon the issues of investment and banking cooperation, perspectives of Russian-Arab cooperation enhancement in tourism, transport and transportation service, agricultural and water resources cooperation.
Russian-Arab Business Council was established in 2002. Upon the agreement the Russian side of the Council includes Russian business community representatives; the Arab side includes the representatives of Chambers of Commerce and Industry and business community of Arab countries. Each side has its own management headed by the chairperson. Two joint sessions take place annually in Russia and Arab countries interchangeably. The sessions are aimed at relevant issues of Russian-Arab commercial and economic relations.
