RussNeft Oil Welfare Foundation 1st Activity in Saratov Region
On March, 2 an inauguration of Volga federal district kickboxing championship at Sport and Recreation Center ‘Zvezdniy’ will take place. The motto of the contest is ‘Healthy live-style in healthy environment’. The contest is organized by Federation of Kickboxing of the Volga Federal Region. The tournament will last till March, 4, over 300 strongest sports persons from the Volga region will participate in it. The sponsors of the championship are OAO Saratovneftegaz and RussNeft Welfare Foundation. It is the first large-scale welfare event held by the Foundation in the Saratov region.
RussNeft WF was set up in October 2006. Foundation’s budget is composed of RussNeft and its subsidiaries’ donations. One of Foundation’s activities focuses on providing support to projects promoting healthy lifestyle, enhancing the development of public sports and sports movement. It is not the first time oil industry workers support Saratov sports persons. Last June sportspersons and coaches’ way to Chelyabinsk to Russian Kickboxing Championship was financially boosted. In November Saratovneftegaz was the primary sponsor of the Second Russian Open Cup for Kickboxing held in Saratov. Other projects supporting sports are the construction of an extreme sports skate park at Naberezhnaya Kosmonavtov and acquiring sports equipment for schools and kindergartens of Saratov Volzhsk region. Under the auspices of oil industry workers technical surveying and repairs of the sports complex Leader at the Pavlovka village of the Marksovsk region have been fulfilled, in Saratov 10 children’s playgrounds have been installed on a grant basis.
Totally, over 40 mln rubles were allocated to welfare in the Sartov region by RussNeft last year.
