«RussNeft» assists with church construction.

The construction of the church was started in 1999, but it was postponed due to lack in available funds. In 2006 RussNeft transferred 3 mln roubles and the construction of the church was completed. There are only interior decoration, additional constructions and site improvements left.
Tatyana Frolova, deputy Head of Administration of the Soviet municipal region, says that RussNeft company has made a significant contribution into the development of the region. “Land rent payments exceed 50% of all revenues coming into the region” – Tatyana Frolova precises – The solid support of the church construction provided by the company gives us confidence that the church will soon become functional and our residents will not have to go to Saratov or Engels to attend churches there”
The opening of the church will become a great long-waited event for orthodox residents of Stepnoye village and the whole of the Soviet region. The church is erected on the open area. Whether one enters or leaves the village – one will always pass by the church. The domes of the church shine gold in any weather. 
- The church has been under construction for several years, but since last year the construction has spinned up, - Father Aleksey says – Russneft contribution into the church construction is invaluable. The region is in real need of this church. When the domes were being dedicated the whole near-by territory which is more than 1 hectar was crowded with people. All these people are our potential parishioners and when the complex will be open they will increase in amount.
Apart form financing the construction of the church, in 2006 more than 700 000 roubles were allocated as material assistance for veterans of the Great Patriotic War, workers of labour front and pensioners.
«Saratovneftegaz», affiliate to «RussNeft», has been operating in the Soviet region for more than half a century and at present 3 oilfields are being developed on its territory. The entity gives almost 900 work places to the residents of the region.
Last year, as compared to 2005, investments of «Saratovneftegaz» into capital construction on the territory of the Soviet region were twice as much and regional budget taxes exceeded 30 mln roubles.
It should be noted that the construction of the church in Stepnoye village is not the only charity project of RussNeft company which is aimed at reconstruction of cultural and historical property site. On the whole RussNeft allocated 15 mln roubles on reconstruction of Saratov orthodox churches and monasteries, 4 mln roubles were allocated on financing the restoration of the most ancient in the village cathedral – the Sviato-Troitskiy cathedral,  6 mln roubles were transferred on building works and construction of the dome of the Sviato-Nikolskiy cathedral and a new church is being built in Ivanteevka village.
