UPGROWTH FORMULA UNDER THE SKY OF ORENBURG

OAO “Neftemaslozavod”, belonging to the refining complex of OAO NK “RussNeft”, makes high-quality products for engineering, metallurgy, gas industries, agriculture and transport. A wide range of its products consists of lubricants, greases, lubricant coolants and process liquids, wax compounds. Today technical upgrading of the energy supply system and the increasing of the range of packed-up goods are high on the entity’s agenda. Much attention is paid to the most effective way of solving ecological problems and tackling matters of industrial safety.

The history of “Neftemaslozavod” in Orenburg dates back to the beginning of the Great Patriotic War, when all strategically important industrial units were promptly evacuated form the near-front zone to the east of the country. On the 30th of July 1941 the Russian government rendered the decision to move the plant № 8 that was being built in Lubertsi in the Moscow region to Orenburg (at that time named Tckalov). The construction site was decided to be located on the territory at the bottom of the river Sakmara. In February 1942 the grease section and the section of wax production without roofs were put into operation. Thus, the plant became part of entities operating at that particular period in petroleum industry and provided the country with the products required at the front, such as: corrosion preventing grease, alkali compounds for weapon cleaning, shell grease, treating compound for electric cable braiding.  In June 1944 there appeared a section of consumer goods producing black and yellow shoe polishes, technical jelly and salve base, candles, axle grease, petroleum and fuel briquettes. During the war period 208 plant workers were awarded with orders and medals for self-sacrificing labor achievements. Nowadays two sections – sections of multipurpose lubricants and grease production – form the basis of this entity. There are more than 50 names in the production line of the entity. In September 2006, starting from the date of its foundation, the entity output its 4.5 millionth ton of lubricants. OAO “Neftemaslozavod” is the winner of the annual regional competition among economic entities and municipal units, “Leader in economics - 2006” in the nomination of  “the Best Enterprise”.
The forward team of the entity is headed by the General Director Kirill Vereta, young, but already very experienced. Every year graduates from specialized secondary schools and higher education establishments come to the plant. Last year a research laboratory – a new subdivision – was staffed predominantly with young experts. The young generation of Orenburg realizes that it is very interesting and promising to work under a huge oil Company such as NK “RussNeft”.
Rivalry is getting stronger and stronger on the lubricant market. The buyer always takes into consideration value for money, that is co-relation of quality and price. “Neftemaslozavod” places its stake on high-quality production. It is  also taken seriously into consideration that work with final consumer is very important and at their request the entity develops new materials as well as improves the existing with respect to the specific requirements to the operational characteristics. A wide range of production, the possibility to supply in complex lubricants is another advantage in the rivalry. Buyers’ confidence in the plant, forming part of OAO NK “RussNeft”, is proven by the increase in the production which this year has been 30%. Another point of the agenda is to diminish energy expenses. Among the near-term prospects there are capital investments in technical upgrading of the energy supply system, which has become possible for the first time due to the investments from NK “RussNeft”. There is a modernization program according to which it is presupposed to reconstruct production facilities, to construct a new oil-loading rack etc.
As far as the range of products is concerned, the Company is in its way to extend the line of high-quality transmission gear oil for retail sale, it is also preparing for the production of reduction oils. Engine and transmission oils and greases in small packages are in great demand and will be distributed in retail at all filling stations operating under the brand of “RussNeft” in Orenburg, Vologda, Smolensk and Moscow regions. Further on it is planned to extend the geography of distribution including into it other regions of the Russian Federation and near-abroad countries.
