«Ulianovskneft» combines efficiency and care of people

Correct social program elaborated at “Ulianovskneft”, an entity possessing an interesting history and rich traditions, is insurance of economic success. Today’s success of the entity dates back to those times when the oil production in this area was just at its beginning. To combine acquired experience with modern tendencies is a credo of oilers from Ulianovsk today. Modern technologies , scientific approach to work organization, development of the oilfield in a complex way and progressive methods to secure ecological safety are combined with correctly built social program used to be so popular in this country in the past.

Agreement is above price

Today at the disposal of “Ulianovskneft” there are huge and small constructions, wells, pumping devices, headers, hundreds of kilometers of distance pipelines and access roads, massive park of load-carrying and light vehicles, business assets and housing funds. The mere existence of this huge complex seems impossible without  twenty-four-hour work of engineers, technicians and other experts. But unfortunately today there is shortage of qualified experts. Tthe reason is that at a certain moment the state neglected personnel policy. However at “Ulianovskneft” it is understood that the staff is highly important. That is why the entity spares no money and efforts to create decent working condition and provide the opportunity of professional advancement. Like in any other serious matter everything starts with an agreement.
The collective agreement which was accepted at the general meeting outlines correct relations at all levels. The agreement also secures meticulous activity as to the improvement of the staff’s qualification and provides mandatory social and voluntary medical insurance. It also stipulates such important details as extra paid vacations for certain categories of employees and various compensatory payments.

Through improvements to efficiency!

Huge entities often strive for maximum efficiency at the expense of their employees. «Ulianovskneft» chooses another way.  Executives believe that those two notions are interrelated and cannot be treated separately. Consider, for example, job sharing method applied for the field development, so popular in Novospasskiy. On the one hand, shifts presuppose tougher working conditions. But on the other hand, those defects can be easily turned into advantages. Now the Baranovskoye, Varvarovskoye, Golodiayevskoe, Volodarskoye and Western oilfields have installed comfortable base station for brigade. There is everything necessary for proper rest after work: homish bedrooms, vast kitchens, equipped bathrooms, TV and radio sets. If we combine the above mentioned with modern industrial equipment we will have perfect conditions for fruitful professional activity.
-This approach makes the job sharing method the most suitable, - says Alexander Merkulov, head of oil production section. – A man works hard having at the same time very comfortable conditions. The performance rate is growing and people are satisfied.
To have a house is not a problem?
Nowadays a flat or a house is a sign of stability and solvency. However for many people this problem is unsolvable because of the existing prices. «Ulianovskneft» understands the whole delicacy of the situation and is ready to help its employees. Thus, last year 3 million roubles were allocated to grant credits for these purposes. In 2007 we expect to have this sum increased. “Ulianovskneft” is like a big family where those who need help are never left in trouble: last year material aid was given to 169 employees which totals to more than one million roubles. This year this sum will be increased on 200 thousand roubles.

Health is most important!

In 2006 more than 600 thousand roubles were spent on sanatorium-resort therapy of the entity’s employees and their families, 120 people had the opportunity to improve their health. 428 people underwent outpatient and hospital treatment at the expense the funds of the voluntary medical insurance – 500 thousand roubles were spent on this purposes. Regular health examinations are held. Much attention is also paid to labour protection – more than 4 million roubles were allocated on these purposes. 2 million are annually spent on work clothes and safety shoes and individual protection equipment.

Good work - good rest!

The recreation center “Priboy” (“Swash”) which is situated in the most picturesque place in Ulianovsk region on the bank of the lake Beloye (white) was open on July, 2, 2007.  In summer the center functions as out-of city health improvement camp for the oilers’ children from Novospassk. This summer 170 children and 90 adults came to the center. Due to the social policy prices for the tickets are very low. People from subsidiaries and other companies from Penza, Samara, Kuznetsk, Syzran, Toliatty also come to the Ulianovsk region and enjoy their staying at “Priboy” for interesting entertaining programs, good sport equipment, a boat station, a beach with clean sand, a shooting gallery, miscellaneous food, careful staff are all one needs for good rest and positive summer memories.
We remember our past, we create our future
Like any other entity, “Ulianovskneft” is proud of its working dynasties. Moreover those dynasties are created, so to speak, inside the company. Thus, 300 thousand roubles were spent on education for the employees’ children. They also remember veterans who are always taken great care of. Funds allocated to support the older generation is increasing every year. “Ulianovskneft” does not have any intention to stop in this direction as the most important for the company are production stability and its employees’ interests.
