Profession for strong and courageous

«Crude oil, produced in the Saratov Region, is very beautiful: such chocolate-brown tincture is seldom occurred in nature», - confirms Nadezhda Voytenko, operator of Pravoberezhny shop in ОАО «Saratovneftegaz», and a participant of the review competition of professional skills. In «Saratovneftegaz» tradition of carrying out such events goes back to the Soviet times, and this summer the oilworkers gathered again to show their mettle and to compete with other workshops to the title of "The Best by Profession".
Vladimir Ilyasov, the General Director of ОАО «Saratovneftegaz», complimented the competitioners:
- Last year the workers of ОАО «Saratovneftegaz» won the multi-region review competition "The Best by Profession" among the Volga - Ural enterprises of "RussNeft", that showed their high professional level. I hope, that this year your knowledge and professional skills will help you to win in this competition!
By tradition, the representatives of ten leading professions of the enterprise went after a prize: oil and gas production operators, commercial operators, engineers of technologic pumps, shift teams for well servicing and for well workover, assistants of chemical testing, mechanical trades for repair of oilfield equipment, electro-gas welders, drivers, locksmiths, electricians.
It's not only prestigious, but also profitable to become the winner of such competition: in addition to valuable presents (microwaves, kitchen machines and cinemas) the very best will get 10 per cent increase to their salary during the year. Besides, as it was already said, they are to defend the honour of ОАО «Saratovneftegaz» at the multi-regional review competition of "RussNeft", that will take place in Ulyanovsk in August.  
  
Rain or shine, oil and gas production operators have their duty. The jurymen have their eyes about the performance of competitive task  -  «replacement of epiploic compactions in the oilwell» – : whether the protective clothing and instruments are in good order, whether the expiration date of personal protective gear is valid or not, whether the safety standards are strictly followed or not?  
- In this work, as in any other, there are no trifles, - says Sergey Navnyko, the presiding comissioner of oil and gas production operators. – Health and life of operators very often depends on, how strictly the precedence rules and safety requirements are followed. Their every action should be practiced for second-nature.
Andrey Demchenko, oil and gas production operator of Severny shop, for the first time decided to try his skills in competition. According to his words, it was most difficult to manage his nerves in unusual circumstances:
- During the duty I usually work together with my fellow-worker, and here, in the competition, so many people are following your work. No wonder, that you get excited.
The competitors highly evaluated their rivals:
- They are real pros. I saw one guy, who made no mistakes. – sincerely admiring says one of the competitoprs. Competition in this profession was on a good level: the best oil and gas production operator, Ivan Talanov, has got 100 points of 100 possible.
Work for real women
It's not an easy work to be commercial operator, whose duty is to count the amount of oil production. It so happened that among commercial operators of ОАО «Saratovneftegaz» there are mainly women - a friendly team, who likes their work doesn't concede men in their professional skills. Practically all of them work in oil industry for many years. The winner of the last review competition, Elena Baykova, is already 20 years in profession, she has title of "The Veteran of Work in oil and gas industry ". This title was given to her not only for a long period of work, but also for special services. Last year she became the best operator not only of "Saratovneftegaz", but also of all Volga-Ural Region enterprises of "RussNeft".
In the judgement of the winner 2008, Tatiana Aleksandrova, every competitor had right to get the first prize - but she was simply a little bit more lucky than any other of the competitors.

Good electro-gas welders and electricians are worth their weight in gold. In this nominations there was also a close contest between the competitors. The fact, that the jury evaluated not only professional skills of the competitors, but also their work places, says of the high professional level of the participants.
Some competitors confirmed their professional level of the previous year, others grew up in their professionalism. Thus, for the second year the winners in nomination "Engineers of technologic pumps" become Aleksey Isaev, Ivan Talanov, Vadim Saenko, Pavel Ivanov.
The veteran of "Saratovneftegaz", who devoted to the enterprise more than 40 years of his life, Vladimir Tarasov rose from the oil and gas production operator to the head of the oilfields. He also participated in the competitions of the kind, and he esteemed the work of other competitors being a member of jury. He brought up a worthy turn - among the managers of the enterprise there are many his followers. This year he was also invited to be a member of the jury. In his opinion, within the years the professional level of the participants grew up exceedingly:
- I'm happy to see the scrupulous approach of the competitors to every level of their work, which they fulfil skilfully, quickly and precisely. It was really hard to choose the very best. Carry on, «Saratovneftegaz»!
