The high priest of the European organ-players made a musical present to women of Saratov

In Saratov conservatory there was given a benefit concert for women-veterans of war and labour, dedicated to the International Women's Day.

The program notes included classic of Russian and foreign music. The concert was played by the symphony orchestra of the conservatory headed by Medeta Turgumbayeva, the clarinet player Andrey Kosenko, the leading singer of the Saratov Opera and Ballet Theatre Sergey Sidorov, the young flute player Arseny Tsoy, the soloist of Saint-Petersburg State Music Theatre Lyubov Belotserkovskaya (soprano).
The highlight of the concert became the performance of the "high priest" of the European organ-players Ton van Eyck - the chairman of the Kingdom of the Netherlands Collegium for Organ Art, the principal organ-player of the oldest Netherlands Saint Bavo Cathedral, Doctor of Arts, professor of the Conservatory of the Hague, Tilburg Conservatory and Antwerp Conservatory.
He played the final movement of Alexander Gilman Organ Festival Sinfonia. The audience showed enthusiasm while listening to the organ improvisation on a theme of the popular Russian folk song "Oj, tsvetet kalina" - a present from Ton van Eyck to the women of Saratov.
"Saratovneftegaz" (the subsidiary enterprise of "RussNeft") sponsored this benefit concert. The women-veterans of the Saratov oil and gas complex received complimentary concert tickets.
The oil-workers have given support to benefit organ concerts in Saratov Conservatory for some years. The foster-children from orphan asylums and boarding schools become their guests. In 2006 the invitee performer was the leading singer from Moscow Philarmony Alexander Udaltsov, in 2007 - professor of the Cologne Higher Music School Peter Dick; last year - professor of Paris Conservatory Domenico Severin.
