In 2009 "RussNeft" will place its stake on oilfields with stable production growth

This is said in the company's report with reference to the Head of Oil and Gas Production Department of the Company, Alexandr Ushakov.

 According to A. Ushakov, good results in Western Siberia are obtained from drilling subsoil areas of Shapsha group, belonging to the subsidiary "Aki-Otyr". The compay goes on developing these oilfields. "RussNeft" has also good prospects in Tomsk Region (Central Siberia) where it is going to start developing Stolbovoye oilfield.

In Udmurtia the oilfields are not so high-output as in Western Siberia, but it is also possible to build up production there, said A.Ushakov, however, this area will have to wait for better days: nowadays the main task of the group of plants of the subsuiduary "Belkamneft"  is to maintain the existing level of oil production.

In Ulianovsk region several horizontal wells were drilled last year, and production achieved was more than 30 tons per day - an excellent figure for the region. In Saratov area there was developed a project of horizontal well drilling, the expected amount of production  - 1200 tons.But startup of the project is delayed up to the present. A very important matter for the subsidiary "Saratovneftegas"  is also production and processing of natural gas, for the region possesses both significant resources of this stock and opportunities for  selling it.

In 2008at RussNeft amounted to 1.7 %.
