They are always the first!

What are your first impressions of the working days?
– That was an interesting time: deepening in theory, in development. I wanted to see and to experience everything. Of course, experience comes in time, but I have already taken a great interest. I reinforced practice working in Variegan oilfield, where together with the operators I oversaw the well performance. Studying at the Tyumen Oil and Gas University I had an opportunity to work as an operator in oil and gas production workshop № 2. Later on, having seen army service, I returned to the home enterprise, where I was offered to become a geologist. Besides, many of my friends have been working there.
- What is the modern geology today?
– This is new technologies and thinking. The developments became present-day as compared to the previous years. Of course, those people who worked in 60-70th have more experience, and only they can help us to understand all subtleties of the profession. But nothing stands still, today we promote our own ideas, our own viewing. Today the most important for us is gain in yield at minimum cost, that is quite a difficult task due to old deposits; but we think positive! We joined Tagrinskoye and Zapadno-Varieganskoye oilfields. It is worthy of note that 30 years after in December 2008 we managed to drill the most productive horizontal well №5002 with the daily flow of more than 300 tons per day. This is a very good result. No less promising is Valyuninskoye oilfield. As of today, there have been drilled two wells, completed hydraulic fracturing. The findings are very encouraging. There were moments when engineering equipment had no time to transport oil. The Western Siberia is still rich in natural resources.
Now we are working directly with the basic fund, where we can increase the extraction by means of carrying out geological and engineering operations. Under the circumstances, cooperation with the incumbent workers of the enterprise is effective. When I'm in deep waters I always turn to them, and after that I discuss the matter with my immediate supervisor, with whom we work through all benefits and implications.
-What is a geologist in your opinion?
– There are people who admire stars and they want to know about them as much as possible. Geologist is the one who is interested in everything that is in the earth's womb. And there's just so much undiscovered! Today a geologist is much more concerned with development and research. The standard of knowledge altered considerably. If formerly everything has been manually done, f.ex. statistical accounting, and for this work there were involved many geologists, then today there are programs containing all database on well development and map documents. It is quite reasonable that geologists are entrusted with a heavy duty: they have to make summary data, to draw concise conclusions.
On April 10 Fidan is going on for 25, but one can say with assurance that he is already a mature professional and personality.

– I immediately liked his self-assertion, insistence on high standards, professional competence. Noting his good potential and desire to work, the management of the enterprise appointed the young professional as the Head of Geological and Engineering Operations Division.
In our enterprise there are working many young professionals, we constantly recruit young people. They have serious attitude, yearning for action, and this can not but rejoice. In spite of the crisis, the activity of «Varieganneft» can be described as stable. Great merit in it goes to us - geologists.
