In Udmurtia on the river Chepets in the course of exercises there was eliminated an oil spill
In Udmurtia on the river Chepets there took place large-scale exercises on the post-accident clean-up. These exercises are held several times a year by "Belkamneft" (the subsidiary enterprise of OJSC Oil and Gas Company "RussNeft") beginning with 2001.
In the course of exercises there was simulated emergency situation connected with the potential oil spill in the area of the river Chepets. Under the terms of the exercise the emergency situation occurred as a result of breaching in the high-head oil pipe in the Debessk District of the Udmurt Republic. Oil got in water. A column of heavy equipment arrived to the place of the staged accident. The damage caused by the accident was successfully eliminated during the set time-limit.
As it's said in the reports of the company, the matters of the environmental safety are given much attention to in the sites of OJSC "Belkamneft". Thus, in 2008 there was invested 944 million Rubles on the financing of the environmental actions.
The exercises of the oil workers, which are annually organized in different bodies of water of Udmurtia, show that in cases of emergency its consequences will be immediately eliminated.
