Varieganneft has found effective process solutions when operating with the idling well stock

21.09.2009 "Samotlor-Express"

Raduzhny. Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous District. ОАО «Varieganneft», the subsidiary enterprise of OJSC Oil and Gas Company «RussNeft», finds effective process solutions when operating with the idling well stock in Variegan license area. This information has been provided to the Oil and Gas Information Agency by the press-secretary of the enterprise Olga Lukianenko.

As contrasted with the classic method on isolation of leakage of production string by means of cement placement, the wireline-set packer is considered to be more effective process solution. This device allows to separate bottomhole zone from its other parts, thus giving an opportunity for the development of separate formations.
The choice of technology is determined by the technical state of production strings of wells, being inactive, and by cost optimization for the performance of cement squeeze, with the assistance of the major workover teams. Starting with the moment of implementation of this technology, the packer equipment was applied in 6 wells of Variegan well site. The total debit increase will make 24 tons per day. The prime cost of cement squeeze with the application of this technology has reduced by 3 times.
ОАО «Varieganneft» enters the structure of OJSC Oil and Gas Company «RussNeft». The enterprise carries out development of eight oilfields in Khanty-Mansiysk and Yamalo-Nenets autonomous districts: Variegan, Kalinovoye, Yuzhno-Kalinovoye, Novo-Aganskoye, Valyuninskoye, Tagrinskoye, Zapadno-Varieganskoye; Severo–Yaraynerskoye. Annual production rate in 2008 made 2 million 475 thousand tons of oil.
