A laboratory for radiation monitoring put into operation in Saratov.

Saratov . A laboratory for radiation monitoring has been put into operation at OAO “Saratovneftegas” (a subsidiary of OAO NK “RussNeft”. ) This is the only facility of the kind at the upstream plants of the region.

The up-to date equipment installed in the laboratory helps to maintain twenty-four-hours radiation monitoring at the facilities of the plant with the aim of providing security of the personnel operating equipment with high consentartion of natural radionuclides.

The laboratory is able to fulfil a wide range of researches: gamma-ray scintillation spectrometering, dosimeter measurements of gamma-radiation, search gamma survey, alpha- and beta-measurements of  contamination, measurements of radon concentration in the atmosphere. Besides radiation monitoring at the facilities of “Saratovneftegas” the laboratory is able to fulfil researches for third-party customers.

In 2010 “Saratovneftegas” spent more than 10 million rubles for implementation of target programs in the sphere of radiation security.
