Сontribution of “RussNeft” to the future of Udmurtia
Izhevsk. We have already got used to the fact that each year on the 1st of September in Udmurtia there are opened new schools and other educational institutions. The 2011 is not an exclusion of the rule. On the 30th 0f August the new block of the Oil and Gas Institute at the Udmurtia State University was opened in Izhevsk. A 9-storey modern building was built on the initiative of the president of Udmurtia Alexandr Volkov with the funds of the well-known businessman, benefactor, president of OAO NK “RussNeft” Mikhail Gutseriev. It is worth to remind that a year ago there was signed the agreement on construction of the building. 10 million dollars was assigned for this purpose. The constructors have completed their work in the shortest possible time and on the 1st of September the new block is ready to admit students. The building can admit 600 students. At the square of 8 thousand m2 there are housed 21 scientific laboratories, 12 classrooms. 100 teachers will work there.
Good tradition
Implementation of this benefactory project is one of many successful social initiatives of Mikhail Gutseriev in our Republic. Thus, earlier the president of “RussNeft” financed construction of the Zoo in Izhevsk, which has now become one of the favorite places of leisure for the inhabitants of Izhevsk. Besides, the lists of bebefactory projects of the art patron include sponsoring of ewconstruction of St. Michael Сathedral in Izhevsk, Holy Mother of Kazan Church in Balezino, Malo-Diveevsky Monastery in the village of Noria, Malopurginsky District, construction of Holy Royal Martyrs Church in Izhevsk, St. Martyr Panteleimon Church in the village of Karakulino.
The company “RussNeft” and Mikhail Gutseriev personally pay much attention to educational projects. Thus, in 2006 with the company’s support at the MSU there was set up High School of Innovative Business for training of higly qaulified specialists of the oil branch. In 2010 in Saratov there was opened a regional preparatory department for future applicants to the Oil and Gas University on the basis of target employment of “RussNeft”. And now – the Oil and Gas University in Udmurtia.
From an institute – to a scientific center
The ceremony of opening the Oil and Gas Institute was festivly held. The president of Udmurtia Aleksandr Volkov thanked the constructors for their expert work. Highliting the contribution of the president of “RussNeft” to implementation of the project so important for the Republic, Aleksandr Volkov said that the Government of the UR approached the rectorate of the UdSU with the offer to name the Oil and Gas Institute after Mikhail Gutseriev. The initiative was supported by the management of the institute and now the new building is decorated with a plate which will remind many generations of students of the person who by his personal effort and financial contribution enabled them to become experts in a successful industry branch. “Mikhail Gutseriev demonstrated a sample of true governmental thinking/ He made a significant contribution in the future of our republic”, said Aleksandr Volkov. “No country has a future without training qualified specialists”.
In his reply speech Mikhail Gutseriev thanked the Government of the UR and the rectorate of the UdSU for the honour. “The Oil and Gas Institute is named after me. It is a great pleasure for me. But it is much obliging. The oil and gas industry needs permanent inflow of new qualified specialists. That is why our company is trying to do its best to resolve this problem. We are going to take care of the Oil and Gas Institute in future as well. Very soon there will be built a comfortable hostel for the students of the institute, the laboratories will receive with the most modern equipment. I think, that in future the Oil and Gas Institute will become a full-scale scientific center for training of the best experts of oil and gas industry and develop the most advanced technologies of hydrocarbon production. Besides, “RussNeft” contributes to returning of the best scientists to Russia from abroad, creating for the the conditions necessary for significant scientific discoveries.
My opinion is that we must prepare expert by our oun means here, in Russia. And, I believe, the Institute of Oil and Gas will help to resolve this problem”, said the president of “RussNeft”.
