“RussNeft” contributed to the future of Udmurtiya.
Izhevsk. Annually new schools and other educational institutions are opened in Udmurtiya. 2011 has not become an exception. The shining example – is the opening of a new building of oil and gas Institute of UdGU, which was held on 30 August in Izhevsk.
9-storey modern building was built on the initiative of the President of Udmurtiya Alexander Volkov and financed by a famous entrepreneur, philanthropist, the President of OAO NK “RussNeft” Mikhail Gutseriev.
Agreement on construction of the building was signed a year ago. For this purpose more than 300 thousand rubles was allocated. The builders in the shortest possible time completed works, and 1 September a noble building welcomed the students.
The building is designed to train 600 people. The building with an area of 8 thousand m2 will have 21 educational-scientific laboratories and 12 classrooms. 100 teachers will conduct training.
Heart-warming tradition
For Mikhail Gutseriev the realization of this charitable project – is one of many successful social undertakings in the Republic. Thus, previously the President of "RussNeft" financed the construction of zoological park in Izhevsk, which has become one of the most favourite places of leisure of people of Izhevsk and city visitors. In addition, on the account of the patron – help in restoration of St. Michael’s Cathedral in Izhevsk, the Kazan-Bogoroditsky Temple in the village Balezino, Malo-Diveevsky Monastery in the village Norya of Malopurginsky district, building of the Temple of Sacred Regal Martyrs in Izhevsk, the Temple of Sacred Great Martyr Pantheleimone in the village Karakulino.
The Company "RussNeft" and Mikhail Gutseriev personally pay a lot of attention to educational projects. Thus, in 2006 in the Moscow State University with the company’s support the High school of innovative business was established for training high quality experts-oil industry workers. And in 2010 in Saratov there was open regional preparatory department for the future entrants of the University of oil and gas on the basis of a target set of "RussNeft". And here now – oil and gas Institute in Udmurtiya.
From the institute - to the scientific center
The opening ceremony of the institute was held in a festive and solemn atmosphere. Alexander Volkov thanked the construction workers for high-quality work. Noting the contribution of the President of “RussNeft” to the realization of such a significant project for the republic, he said that the Government had asked the UR University Rector’s Office with a proposal to name the Institute of oil and gas after Mikhail Gutseriev. The initiative was supported by the University and now the building of the new corpus is decorated with the sign, which will remind many generations of students about the person owing to the personal efforts and material contributions of whom they were able to acquire an excellent profession and become high-class specialists. “Mikhail Gutseriev demonstrated a sample of a real public thinking. He has made a significant contribution to the future of our Republic. Indeed, without training qualified specialists there is no future of the country” – said Alexander Volkov.
In response, Mikhail Gutseriev thanked the Government of Udmurtiya and the Rectorate of UdGU for such honor. “The Institute of oil and gas is named after my name. It is a big pleasure for me! But this much obliges. Oil and gas industry needs constant flow of qualifies personnel. This is why our company tries to make strong contribution to the solution of this problem.
We will not leave the institute unattended in future too. Soon there will be built the perfect hostel for students, the laboratories will be equipped with modern equipment.
Over time, the Institute should become a full-fledged research center for training the best professionals for oil and gas industry, within its walls the most advanced technologies will be developed for hydrocarbon production.
Moreover, “RussNeft” assists return to Russia of the best scientific manpower from abroad, establish the necessary conditions for them for powerful scientific breakthroughs and discoveries. “We must train staff in-house, here in Russia, and I believe that the Institute will help meet this challenge” – said the President of the Company “RussNeft”.
