Varieganneft implements environmental program in license areas of Variegan oil field.

Raduzhny, KhMAO. OAO Varieganneft will allocate over 120 million rubles in 2012 to improve the environmental situation in the license areas of Variegan oil field. Within the environmental program activities, the company intends to reinstate the oil contaminated areas and sludge pits, reclaim the oil sludge and perform environmental monitoring in each license area.

Every year the company performs industrial safety expert review on the most critical sections of the pipeline which allows timely decommissioning of the sections with the wall thickness bellow critical. According to the press service of the company, 64 million 775 thousand rubles will be allocated in 2012 to perform the expert review.

In order to mitigate the pipelines corrosion, OAO Varieganneft intends to buy effective corrosion inhibitors for 25 million 560 thousand rubles in 2012. Their utilization will allow to decrease the number of potential accidents.

Improvement of the environment conditions is the priority of OAO NK RussNeft HSE Management corporate system introduced in 2011.

Compliance of the HSE Management system to the international standards ISO 14001: 2004 and OHSAS 18001:2007 is supported with certificates issued to the oil company by BUREAU VERITAS Certification Russia, official certification body.

OAO NK RussNeft considers introduction of the HSE Management corporate system as one of the most important elements for a successful business. Obtained certificates of compliance to the international standards ISO 14001: 2004 and OHSAS 18001:2007 are a strong evidence of the efficiency of the introduced corporate system.
