Khanty-Mansiysk. OAO NAK AKI-OTYR, subsidiary of OAO NK RussNeft, implements a program for associated gas utilization. The program provides for an increase of the effective utilization of the associated gas up to 95%.
52-km interfiled gas pipeline has been constructed from Verkhne-Shapshinskoye field booster station to Nizhne-Shapshinskoye field oil treatment plant under this program. This pipeline will be used for transport of the associated gas to the compressor station, then to the new gas processing plant (project of OOO MONOLIT, OAO NK RussNeft, Salym Petroleum Development).
The underground section passes through Khanty-Mansiysk and Nefteyugansk districts. Construction of the facility was complicated due to crossings with rivers, underground utility lines, motorways, a big number of swamps as well as depth of the pipeline installation of 2.8 m.
Besides, the company develops the gas gathering infrastructure, gas processing and power generation using gas piston power plants. In February 2010, MONOLIT successfully carried out a unique project in Nizhne-Shapshinskoye field where a gas piston power plant was built and commissioned allowing electrical power self-sufficiency for the field. A compressor station will be commissioned in Nizhne-Shapshinskoye field and a gas piston power plant will be commissioned in Verkhne-Shapshinskoye field in 2012.
Implementation of these projects will allow OAO NAK AKI-OTYR to improve the ecological situation in the fields and achieve the associated gas utilization level of 95% as early as in Q2 2012.
