OAO Saratovneftegaz carries on its charity projects in the region
Saratov. A town park opening ceremony was held in Stepnoe (Sovietsky municipal district of Saratov region) within the district center day celebration.
OAO Saratovneftegaz, OAO NK RussNeft subsidiary, has been the General Sponsor for social upgrades for a number of years. The celebration was attended by Denis Fadeev, Vice-governor of Saratov region, Tagir Latypov, OAO Saratovneftegaz Director General, and the district residents.
Vladimir Andreev, Head of the Sovietsky municipal district administration, emphasized at the ceremonial meeting that it would have taken much longer to have this joyful day without the substantial financial aid from the oil company.
A bust to I.I. Moiseev, hero of the socialist labor, honorable oilman, former head of the Stepnoe and Saratov drilling department, was solemnly opened within the celebration.
In 2009, the Stepnoe town park was given the name of another legendary oil/gas industry worker – Gennady Sergeevich Luzyanin, who headed Saratovneftegaz for over 20 years. His bust has been a decoration of the town park’s Glory Alley for a number of years.
Renewed greenery, cozy walkways, flowerbeds, playgrounds, improvement of recreation facilities, construction of a fountain, rotunda and summer show stage, upgrade of the Neftyanik stadium next to the park – around 11 million rubles overall have been allocated to Sovietsky district by OAO NK RussNeft and OAO Saratovneftegaz for the recent years within the charity programs implementation in the areas of their operation.
It is to be noted that Sovietsky municipal district has always been special for Saratovneftegaz. Discovery of Stepnovskoe gas condensate field in Saratov trans-Volga area in 1954 was an outstanding event for the industry in general: as early as in a few years from the beginning of its development, Saratov region provided around 10% of the gas production in the USSR. Today, 20% of the personnel of Saratovneftegaz, its service and subsidiary affiliates, work exactly in Sovietsky district. Significant part of the local budget is formed by the company’s taxes.
According to the Cooperation Agreement between the Government of Saratov region and OAO NK RussNeft, the Company and its subsidiaries and affiliates will allocate more than 20 million rubles overall by the end of 2012 for development of social economic programs and implementation of charity and sponsorship projects in the region.
