RussNeft is planning to receive 2 areas for exploration in Algeria
Sarapul, Udmurtia. OAO NK RussNeft is planning to receive two areas for exploration in Algeria (Northern Africa), as Mikhail Gutseriev, the President of the Company, told journalists on Thursday.
“We have just disembarked in Algeria, opened the representative office, the registration procedure is very complicated. We hope that well receive two areas for exploration in Algeria”, Gutseriev said.
It was said earlier that OAO NK RussNeft had obtained the certificate for the right to carry on exploration and prospecting works at the territory of Algeria in the status of “Onshore Operator-Investor”.
The decision on qualification of the Russian oil holding was taken by the Energy and Mining Ministry and the National Agency for Hydrocarbon Resources Development Alnaft on the basis of the holding business documents and reports submitted by the Company.
According to Gutseriev, specialists also inspect the results received during the works in Mauritania.
“We have already drilled in Mauritania, and we have found three traps – maybe, it is water, and maybe oil, I don’t know, but we have found some fluid. And now we start drilling.
All these project are being actively developed in all countries”, he said.
