RussNeft and Gubkin Russian State University of Oil and Gas continue implementation of the joint educational project

The joint educational project of OAO NK Russneft and the university, initiated by Mikhail Gutseriev, President of the Company, had commenced as early as in 2010. The project was expanded in 2011 beyond the Volga river region and West Siberia – similar Regional Preparation Department was opened in Raduzhny based on OAO Varioganneft, subsidiary of NK RussNeft.

Over 50 graduates of the Regional Preparation Departments from Siberia and Volga river region have become students of Gubkin Oil and Gas University.

All this week long, 29 school high students from Saratov and Ulyanovsk regions (areas of the Company’s operation) have been preparing for their future study in Moscow. Most of them are children of the Company’s assets employees: OAO Saratovneftegaz, OAO Ulyanovskneft and their subsidiaries. Besides, 9 people have become students of the Regional Preparation Department this year under recommendations from administrations of the Saratov region municipal areas where OAO Saratovneftegaz has its production facilities. Those people are winners of various contests and competitions having shown excellent knowledge on the profile disciplines. Therefore, another positive feature of the project is the fact that it provides equal opportunities for eventual applicants to enroll into the leading oil and gas university in Russia regardless their residence location – either a major regional centre of rural area.

Costs of the students’ pre-university preparation and following study at the University are covered by OAO NK RussNeft. Leading professors from Gubkin Oil and Gas University teach the profile disciplines (mathematics and Physics) at the Regional Preparation Department. Specially developed teaching programs provide not only for two offsite training/examination periods in 2013-2014 based on Saratovnedra educational centre (subsidiary of OAO Saratovneftegaz), but also serious individual work of the high school students under remote control from the teachers.

Study at the Regional Preparation Department allows the high school students to have the largest possible preparation for the General State Examinations at school and further enrollment into Gubkin Oil and Gas University.

The project’s strategic goal is the prepare the high grade specialists for eventual work at OAO NK RussNeft and the assets within its corporate structure.

Operation of the Regional Preparation Department is an important stage of implementation of OAO NK RussNeft program for preparation of young high grade specialists who, after graduation, will be in demand at the holding’s assets and in the oil and gas industry in general.
