New Temple to be Opened in Izhevsk.

The first stone was laid in the foundation of the Regal Martyrs’ Church situated at the entrance to the Severnoye cemetery in December last year. And already on the 9th of May there should be held an opening ceremony. On Thursday crosses were installed onto the church building. After the crosses lying on the ground were consecrated, it started to rain. So by the time they were lifted and installed on the domes the crosses had been sprinkled both with holy and heaven water. The workers carrying the crosses even took off their gloves. Neither rain nor cold weather prevented people from coming to the consecration ceremony with their children. The ceremony was attended by students of the Udmurt State University. 
“This is our future, new generation that will keep on living,” said Archbishop Nicholas, pointing at them. He also said that at the Severnoye cemetery many defenders of the Motherland had been buried and they were real saint martyrs. The church itself has been named after the regal martyrs, Tsar Nicholas the Second and his family. In the church burial services over the dead will be read.
In about two weeks time a bell will be installed. Such short-term construction becomes possible when there is good financing. It is evident that neither the republic nor the town could have given such funds therefore the expenses were covered by Belkamneft.
