‘An Italian’ the Best Again

The Best Film Prize at the International Children’s Festival Kinotavrik was given to a very serious film called ‘An Italian’ directed by Andrey Kravchuk. Young Kolya Spiridonov starring in it was nominated as the Best Young Actor.

Each festival has its own special spice. The spice of the Kinotavrik is its jury consisting solely of children. In this year jury there were Dima Martynov who played the son of Khabensky’s character in ‘Night Petrol’, Eralash stars Dasha Parzhizek and Angelina Rimashevskaya, Sacha Yankin from ‘Greenhouse Effect’. But the biggest stars of the children’s jury were Peter Kadochnikov, the great-grandson of the famous actor, (‘Timur and his Team’) and Andrey Livanov (‘I am a Puppet’), the son of Irena Bezrukova and Igor Livanov. To uphold Peter and Andrey their mothers came to the Festival. Being too busy the mothers were not able to stay until the end of the Festival though. So the actors’ children had to make serious decisions as to whom to award the prizes on their own. Everybody was surprised at how responsibly the children performed their duties. Instead of strolling along the sea beach as others did they watched two or three films a day and then in the evenings they got together in the headquarters of the Festival and had heated late night discussions of what they’d seen during the day. And still there was some time when they could amuse themselves in the company of those who had come to the Festival. Indisputable live wires at the Kinotavrik were the actor’s team from the serial film ‘My Beautiful Nanny’. Both Pasha Serdyuk and Ira Andreeva became all but very close friends to hundreds of children who came to the festival.
— We watch you two times a day! —children from dancing groups kept saying.
— Two times is not enough, it should be three! — Katya Dubakina put her arms akimbo.
By and large the children were going away from the Kinotavrik having made and received no end of nice friends and impressions.
The Festival would not have taken place if it hadn’t been for the support from company Russneft and its President Mikhail Safarbekovish Gutseriev.
