In May Orsknefteorgsintez OAO, a subsidiary of Oil Company RussNeft OAO, has started to produce diesel oil meeting the Euro-3 standards. The production volume of the advanced product will come to 5 thousand tons per month. The product is to be shipped to the consumers of the Moscow and central regions of Russia, RussNeft says in a statement.
RussNeft completed the deal on the purchase of Orsknefteorgsintez from TNK-BP in December 2005. The template capacity of the refinery is 6.6 million tons of crude oil a year. By the end of 2006 the refinery plans to increase the processing volumes from 3.5 to 5 million tons of crude oil.
As RussNeft President Mikhail Gutseriev informed earlier, in the year 2006 the company is going to invest $50 million in the Orsk Refinery in order to bring its products in compliance with the international quality standards.
At the first stage in the year 2006 the refinery will set up the production of diesel oil with 350 ppm total sulphur (Euro-3). At the second stage they will do the revamp of LCh 24-2000 unit to enable production of diesel oil with 50 ppm total sulphur to be later brought to 10 ppm (Euro-4).
