Sobolinoye is Growing

For 7 months of 2006 production at ZAO Sobolinoye has been over 250 thousand of oil. These figures are the result of hard work. Though Oil and Gas Company RussNeft’s subsidiary is younger than two years old, the indicators, achieved in production and social area over this time are impressive. Around 800 thousand tons of oil are produced. Major part of production construction is fulfilled, around 10 thousand metres of deep wells are drilled, 4 new wells were put into operation, 4 are output from conservation, and total overhaul of 27 wells is fulfilled. Thanks to geological and engineering operations around 120 thousand tons of oil are produced additionally. Optimization

- What measures does Sobolinoye take to increase oil production at the fields?

- We have carried out researches at the Sousern Group of fields, Southern Tabadanskoye, Kulginskoye, Boltnoye and Smolyanoye situated not far from the Kedrovoye town among them. A few wells were renewed. Besides, a range of measures was taken to optimize wells operations (e.g., deep-well pumps were changed). Due to these measures oil production in the South surged fourfold against last year. Power generation sector for oil production cannot be underestimated. Any faulty transmission of energy power supply result in losses, in many cases irreversible. To prevent this we fulfilled significant job of reorganizing of energy supplies at oilfields – we decided who would be our partner, acquired four power stations operating with the help of gas mixture. All this helped us cut our electrical power costs.

Welfare policy

- What conditions do oil fields workers live in?

- RussNeft’s adopted policy for 2006, in which the second major sector is a welfare one, following a production sector. Funds were allocated to set all the necessary conditions for people’s living. An administrative building at Sobolinoye functions already. Each room is for 2-3 people and is equipped with a TV. The complex contains all the things needed – showers, a medical office, a dining-room, a gymnasium, a billiard-table. Apart from that, three meals daily cost 80-90 rubles for field’s workers (considering the cost cut at the expense of the company).

There exists a welfare programme for the employees. We provide interest-free loans for accommodation acquisition. Over two years 13 our employees have taken this opportunity. Our employees’ children get Higher education at the expense of our company. This year alone around 1 million rubles are allocated to buy trips to medical treatment and recreational facilities for employees and their children. Once we have had a funny problem – after a summer season too few children were sent to the South. I asked the employees why it had been so in the meeting. It was found out that basically only young people work at the company; they just do not have children yet.

We lease out a gymnasium and a swimming-pool in Tomsk. As for the welfare sector in total this year we have already spent around 26 thousand rubles per person. Moreover, we constantly increase salaries; last year we increased the salaries by 40% and this year – by 10%.

Future programme

- What are the key plans for 2007?

- We plan to get over 2 milliard rubles capital investments. During the oncoming winter we will construct intra-field and external pipeline networks. We will construct the external network from Southern- Tabadanskoye to Luginetskoye field at Tomskneft’s sector. The total length of the pipeline will be around 140 km. The main works will take place at Southern- Tabadanskoye – a field support base will be situated there, the oil from all the wells of Southern group will be collected there and pumped to the metering station. All the sectors will be united by a pipeline of total length of over 100 km. Major labour force will be concentrated at Southern- Tabadanskoye, including people. That is why a residential hotel will be built there; it will be similar to that at Sobolinoye.
There is a shift camp at Bolotnoye as well. The employees, involved at other fields will live in residential hotels at Bolotnoye and Southern-Tabadanskoye and they will get to work by transport; the distances are quite short here, less than 20 km.
The Bolotnoye field is interesting because it is situated on the springs that means it lies on the areas where the bog is very deep (around 14 metres deep) and do not freeze even during severe frost. To enhance production we will have to construct pile fields. At that we use an absolutely new system of understructures preparation. Pile field will be prepared specially for the machine that will be able to move around the bog.

- What kind of geological exploration do you plan in future?

- Our geological exploration precisely does not fully satisfy the regional administration; we have not allocated enough funds. Next year we will make up for that. We plan to drill five wells – at Kulginskoye, Gurarinskoye, Boltnoye and Southern-Tabaganskoye. Those are our obligations before the regional administration.

- What kind of relationship does the company have with the administration of the regions of Kargasoksk and Parabelsk where ZAO Sobolinoye fields are situated?

- We have business contacts with the administrations. If they need help, we help them; if we need help, they help us. Our company has allocated funds for cathedral construction in Parabel, skiing lodge, children’s playground.. In total we have allocated over 2.5 million rubles for social needs of the regions and charity.

Oil Industry Worker’s Day.

- How do you plan to celebrate your professional high day?

- We launched the preparations for the holiday long before. We had chosen the best in the profession within our staff and sent them to the corporate contest. We are very pleased to have two our employees win in this contest. We also carried out sports contests. We expect an upcoming solemn meeting with best workers’ awards and a celebration evening. Sports competitions and celebration dinners will take place at oil fields as well.

- You are an oil industry worker with 30 years’ experience; your son Nickolay became an oil worker as well. Are you glad he has chosen this profession?

- The most important thing is that my son is interested in the job. He is a strong person and if he does not like a job he will not do it. Nickolay graduated from Moscow Engineering-Physical Institute. Now he works as an energy and power analyst at RussNeft’s Budgeting Department.

- What will you wish to your employees and colleagues, field workers on the event of Oil Industry Worker’s Day?

- Health, peace, welfare and certainly constant production performance advancement.
