The best managers and businessmen of the county determined
The awards “Faces of the Year” which is given by the publishing holding “Sovershenno Secretno” and “Best Managers of the Year” from the business weekly magazine “Company” should, perhaps, be given special prominence among various awards conferred upon winners of social, political and business contests. These awards have been given since 1999, they have their own history and, therefore, are held in respect and “demand” in wide social circles of Russia.
This year President of Oil and Gas Company “RussNeft”, Vice-President of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs Mikail Gutseriev has become the winner of the prestigious awards. He was pronounced the winner of the contest “Best Managers of the Year” in the nomination “Oil and Gas Industry”, annually held by the magazine “Company”. And the readers and the jury of the holding “Sovershanno Secretno” adjudged to him the award in the nomination “Businessman of the Year”.
The award “Best Managers of Russia” determines the level of management of the leading industrial and business structures of the country. Among the award winners there are managers of the companies which succeeded in making a break-through in their branches and using up-to-date management technologies in the most efficient way.
The panel of jury consists of experts, analysts of the oil-and-gas section, editors, branch columnists of the magazine. Principles of assessment at the contest include, first of all, a manager’s personal contribution in the success of their company, new and efficient methods management, working procedures. Transactions, major projects of the company implemented during the year and the achieved results are also assessed by the jury.
It is also worthwhile to particularly note the victory at the contest “Faces of the Year” in the nomination “Businessman of the Year”, held by the publishing holding “Sovershenno Secretno”. The award was established by Artem Borovik, the founder of the group of companies “Sovershenno Secretno”, in 1999. Winners of the top honor of the award in previous years are Mark Zarkharov (2000), Jores Alferov (2001), Patriarch of Moscow and all Russia Alexy II (2002), Yuri Luzhkov (2003) and Anastasia Myskina (2004).
This year the award was adjudged to Nikolai Karachentsov, Galina Vishnevskaya, Galina Volchek, Konstantin Ernst and other major public figures, politicians, world art stars, famous film actors.
The year 2006 proved to be a landmark year for Mikail Gutseriev and the team of “RussNeft”: the youngest holding of the Russian oil industry has not only succeeded in reaching the level of the leading companies, but has won the top position in the industry in such criteria as production development dynamics and the rates of investments’ growth.
The most important factor of Mikail Gutseriev’s success is the large-scale charitable activity of the President of “RussNeft”. Construction of social objects, children’s health centers and schools, sanatoriums and hospitals, restoration of temples and mosques, substantial aid to more than 20 regions of the country – all this doesn’t make a complete list of beneficent actions of “RussNeft” and its President. And the notions underlying this list are kindness, eagerness to help and dedicated, selfless work.
