“RussNeft”- solid social support

There are ten top entities listed as the greatest benefactors and the most active among them are Oil and Gas Company “RussNeft” and its affiliate - OAO “Saratovneftegaz” which in 2006 assured more than 40% of Charity into the region. The oil companies allocate funds on the development of all spheres of social life in the region: healthcare, education, juvenile sport, reconstruction of monuments of cultural heritage and many others.
The authorities of “Saratovneftegas” could not but leave the celebration of the Cosmonautics Day unnoticed. Every 12th of April one of the most entertaining and exciting events of the country has been held for already 10 years in Enguelsk region on Yuriy Gagarin’s landing site. That is Russian Cup in automobile sport. It is evident that the organization of such large-scale competitions in rather expensive, that is why it is difficult to overestimate the support of Oil and Gas Company RussNeft to the organizer of the auto racing – ROSTO (DOSSAF).
This time more than 70 crews from Russia’s 12 cities participated in the competition, and moreover the team of our region possessed 5 cars. There were a lot of rivals, but it was worth competing and making great efforts because at finish there were not only spectators greeting but also valuable prizes acquired by the sponsors. But those were the spectators who got the main prize because it is not an ordinary thing to find ourselves in the epicenter of flame and boiling adrenalin. The organization of the Cup was the brightest event in celebrating the Cosmonautics Day on the field of Gagarin which as well became the finishing point.
- In the near future we are planning to organize offroader racing, helicopter sport, sea overall, submarine hunting championships, as well as a carting tournament,- explains Serguey Bakanov, Chairman of Saratov regional public organization  POSTO (DOSAAF). – A successful organization of such events is very important, that is why it is still more valuable that the huge business does not leave us without support. “RussNeft” company as well as its affiliate - OAO “Saratovneftegaz” are our good friends that help in organizing diverse military and patriotic events. This February ROSTO (DOSAAF) celebrated its 80th anniversary, which was again supported by “RussNeft” company.
Public organizations support is not the only direction of RussNeft Charity projects. The main priorities in policy of social responsibilities of oilmen coincide with national key projects, that are education, healthcare, agriculture.
In particular, in 2006 6,5 mln roubles were allocated to the facilities of health care and social support. Modern medical equipment was acquired for the citizens of the region, hospital pavilions were renovated and fire-alarm systems were installed. 8,3 mln roubles were transferred to educational institutions. 3,5 mln roubles were spent on juvenile sport.
“RussNeft” allocated 15 mln roubles on reconstruction of orthodox churches and monasteries in Saratov. The restoration of the most ancient Svyato-Troitskiy cathedral was financed by 4 mln roubles. 6 mln. roubles were transferred to Svyato-Nikolskiy monastery on construction works and installation of a new dome. New churches are now being built  in Ivanteevka and Stepnoye.
On the whole “RussNeft” company and its affiliate OAO “Saratovneftegas” allocated more than 40 mln roubles on social projects in the region last year. In other words the company has managed to help thousands of people to preserve and rehabilitate their health, find their place in life, assure the future and develop spiritually and physically.
