«Saratovneftegaz» helped rural doctors

The employees of this health care establishment, who had a house-warming celebration a couple of weeks ago, still cannot believe the miracle.  That can be easily understood as it is not without a shudder that everybody recalls the former building of the ambulance hospital.
- Did you have water supply system in the former building? – we ask Lubov Grebenkina, a nurse who is one of those working the longest in the hospital. She was first at a loss for words, but then she immediately said:
- Of course, we did. We took it from a water reservoir.
In fact the three former buildings where Krasnoyarsk hospital used to be placed ran out of their safety potential long time ago. To clearly imagine the situation it will be enough to say that the wood buildings of the hospital were constructed in 1897 (!) that is the century before last.
- We did not have water supply here. In winter we used gas heating to keep warm. We did not meet any sanitary and fire standards. How can we speak about any standards to meet in wood buildings where the floors, the walls and the roofs are turning into debris because of the age and rough weather? – says Elena Shirokikh, head doctor of Krasnoyarsk ambulance hospital. – Almost half a century ago two of the three buildings were covered with brick but inside those brick boxes there still was old wood.
Consequently the administration of the hospital drew a conclusion that sooner or later the old buildings would either get inflamed or crash down. It was evident that extensive repairs of the three completely rotten buildings are unreasonable. It was necessary to look for new premises for the health care establishment, but the hospital did not have funds for it. There was only one decision left that was to turn for help to sponsors.
OAO «Saratovneftegs» - a subsidiary of OAO Oil and Gas Company «Russneft» - was among the first to respond. For good reasons the oilmen could not leave aside the situation in the hospital that was in such a deplorable state. Besides the hospital is situated in the region where the company operates.
«RussNeft» Company and ОАО «Saratovneftegas» are among the most active social investors in the region. Thus, last year they allocated more than 40 million roubles to implement their social projects. Financial support of health care establishments is one of their most important charity assignments. For this purpose last year «Saratovneftegas» allocated  6,5 million roubles. Some part of these funds was spent to install fire-alarm system in district hospitals of Saratov region and in the central hospital of Rovnoe village, there was also purchased modern equipment for hospitals in Atkarsk and Saratov districts and for feldsher-midwife stations in Lysogorsk district. A huge sum was allocated to repair Krasnoyarsk ambulance hospital in Engels district.
As it turned out, in order to reduce financial expenses and the period of construction they made a decision to repair the former building  of the village council  that at that time was not more than just a brick box without a roof, windows and doors. In 10 months in the abandoned construction there appeared repaired corridors and offices, double-gazed windows, a hard roof and vital for a health care establishments supply lines: water, electricity and heat supply. Sergey Bogomolov, member of the regional Duma, considerably supported the hospital.
Elena Shirokikh, head doctor, shows with pride shiny clean wards for day patients for 12 beds, vaccination, surgical, medical treatment rooms and rooms for other purposes.
- Now we have everything we asked for. In the new building there is even a split system which we could only dream of, - says Elena Shirokikh. – Thanks to the sponsors, our hospital has acquired not only a new building, bur also new furniture for every room and what is more important modern equipment for laboratories, dentist’s and other rooms. 
There are not only employees of Krasnoyarsk hospital who would like express their gratitude to the sponsors and particularly to «Saratovneftegas» for such a timely aid. There are also patients of the hospital,  and that is more than 5 thousand people, who would like to thank for a new roof for the hospital which for many years has become the source of their health.
