Saratov medics received support from oilmen

According to the agreement on cooperation between “RussNeft” and the government of Saratov Region  the oilmen implement social projects in all the areas of activity of “Saratovneftegas”. Financial support of medical institutions is among the most important charity directions. Only last year “Saratovneftegas” assigned 6.5 million rubles for their needs. This year sponsoring is being continued.

Charity means were spent for installation of fire alarm system at area hospitals of Saratov district and at the central hospital of Rovnoye settlement, purchasing of modern equipment for the hospitals of the settlements of Atkarski and Saratov districts, equipping with new instruments
feldsher-midwife station in Lysogorsky district. A large sum of money was spent for repair of the new building for Krasnoyarsk ambulant clinic in Engels district.

 “I have heard much about charitable activity of “Saratovneftegas”, says the dean of the Department of Advanced Training and Professional Upgrading of the Saratov State Medical University, professor Nikolai Zriachkin. My colleagues coming from the distant districts of  our region told me that oilmen were very considerate about the medical men’s requests for help and always tried to find finance for that.”
 
The Department of Advanced Training and Professional Upgrading of the Saratov State Medical University opened in 1960 is one of the oldest in Russia. At present more than 6000 physicians not only from Saratov region, but from neighboring regions – Penza, Briansk, Orenburg, Lipetsk and others – are upgrading their qualification within its walls.

N.I.Zriachkin decided to address to “Saratovneftegas” after Engels Children’s City Hospital, the basic hospital of Pediatric Chair  of the Department of Advanced Training and Professional Upgrading of the Saratov State Medical University received new diagnostic equipment within the frames of the national project “Health Protection”.

“You see,” – says N.I.Zriachkin, the physicians from the whole region come to us to get advanced training. We show them how to operate the new equipment, get them familiarized with new methods of medical science. And at that all our students sit at the chairs which were bought several decades ago, when the Pediatric Chair was being founded. The finance assigned by “Saratovneftegas” were spent for new modern furniture for the offices of the Chair, for chairs in the conference-hall. This support helped to create normal working conditions for teachers and physicians-students.

The professor says that in the past days the courses of advanced training for physicians were held once in five years, but now physicians of certain professions must undergo obligatory upgrading courses annually. E.g. training of pediatricians, besides basic program, includes teaching by narrow specialists: otolaryngologists,  oculists etc.

To the opinion of professor Zriachkin all these measures must considerably improve the work of local physicians.

 “Physicians in small towns and villages do not manage to follow the development of modern medical science themselves, for they are short of time and money. Our task is to help the doctors arriving to our University to get familiarized with all the branches of today’s medical science, and later hey will be able to render professional help to their patients.”

As for the plans for the future,  the dean is going to by  a number of pieces of up-to-date equipment for training of physicians. He has no doubts that he will manage it. The professor is sure that “he who invests in training of medics, invests in future”.
