In the end of February in Udmurtia ОАО «Belkamneft» (a subsidiary of Oil and Gas Company «RussNeft») starts the construction of the submerged crossing Vyatka-Ashit on the Kama river. Preliminary works on the construction of the stream crossing have already started near the village Boyarka (Nizhnekamsky reservoir basin).
Total length of the submerged crossing is about 4 km. It should be noted, that similar constructions were not built in Russia for more than 30 years. The project forecasts the technology of "pipe-in-pipe" passage construction, that allows to secure the plain flood in case of pipeline breaching. This technology also lets to simplify access to the pipeline in case of the necessity of carrying out repairs - the pipe is taken out of the guard and repaired on firm ground, whereas at the construction of two lines the repair turns into gigantic underwater works, which significantly raise the price of the repair.
