Formula of success has lots of components, but the most important among them is people. The demonstrative evidence of this statement is ZAO “Sobolinoye”. For the last few years this is the enterprise, incorporated from 2004 in the structure of Oil and Gas Company “RussNeft”. It successfully develops production, explores and exploits new oilfields, improving industrial process in the already producing fields. Last year ZAO “Sobolinoye” produced more than 285 thousands tons of “black gold”, that allows it to be among the leading subsurface users in the territory of the Tomsk Region!

One of those who make “gold reserve” is Edward Dragunas, the Branch manager of oil refining in “Sobolinoye” and “Gurarinskoye” oilfields. This year Edward is going to celebrate his 30 years anniversary, but he already has eight years old experience in oil industry, and half of this time he worked in ZAO “Sobolinoye”.
He started his career here in 2004 as a foreman driller, and already in one year he was appointed a Branch manager.
Nowadays he manages a team of 40 people, who work on oil refining from water and various foreign bodies, and further control at oil custody transfer. The functions of the Branch manager are not only limited to the solution of the production tasks – he’s also responsible for the creation of a good psychic atmosphere of the staff. Under job sharing, detachment from home and the world, it has a particular importance. Edward successfully copes with this task: people come to him for individual advice, they confide him their domestic problems.
- At first, my experience of the army service helped me a lot, it helped me to set up relations with people, to properly position myself in the team – confesses Edward. He himself came from Bakcharsky District, a descendant of the political prisoners of Lithuanian peasants, from his Baltic ancestors he inherited calm, balanced character, thoroughness, scrupulousness and accurateness in any work.
He consciously went to army, considering it a good school for himself.
He saw service in Airborne Forces troupes, later on graduated from the Tomsk Technical School, and now he’s preparing to his final research paper defense in the Institute of Oil and Gas in TPU, and after that he’s planning to continue his postgraduate studies or take courses on “President’s program”. Edward Dragunas credo in life is the following: “A man should constantly develop, setting up new goals before himself and obtaining new knowledge”.
But what he absolutely isn’t going to change is his profession and place of work.
- «When fortune smiles do not further seek to better your lot», the more so, I have with what to compare – I’ve worked in several oil companies. Care and concern of the employees is felt in everything in ZAO “Sobolinoye”. In the hostel there are cosy rooms, gym, satellite, the workers can call to their relatives at any time, food is always tasty and is like at home. “It’s always interesting to work – equipment is modern, new facilities are constantly appearing, the company is actively developing, and it means that challenging tasks and goals are waiting ahead.” – says Edward Dragunas – “There are possibilities for learning and upgrade qualification, for obtaining free higher education by profession - nowadays 4 people are getting their higher education at company’s expenses ”.
