Oilmen helped them

Recently three children from Orsk returned from World Checkers Championship and brought home two gold medals and two silver ones. They also brought a letter of thaks from the President of International Checkers Association addressed to the General Director of ONOS V.V. Surayev, who is known in Orsk as the man who was the firs to start reconstruction of the Temple of Transfiguration and  the father of four talented children as well. Three of them study at the Olympic Reserve Junior school. It were they who returned from the World Championship with awards. They represented our country abroad after having achieved victories at district, city, region  and all-Russian championships.  “If not for the oilmen we would have never had the possibility to go abroad,”- stressed Yuri Nikolayevich. It is worth saying that “Orsknefteorgsintez” have been practicing charity regularly for a long time. Every year the head office of “RussNeft” approves a program which provides for gasification of some districts of Orsk, financial support to be rendered to the airport, cultural, educational and medical institutions,  national, religious and veteran organizations. Development of juniors’ sport is a special section of this program. Club of Greek-Roman wrestling “Sparta”, box federation, free-style wrestling, at the Youth and Children’s Center  “Radost” (“Joy”),  the group of sport dances “Terpsichore”, Children’s Checkers Federation receive substantial financial support from oil chemists. And very often it is not just a support, but the means for survival. This year the expenditures for children’s sports amounted to 550 thousand rubles. It is a substantial sum. And by the end of the year this sum will have grown. Assistance to veterans and children means considerate and delicate approach to the past and the future. The oil chemists resolve this problem, the problem of paramount importance, not verbally, but by real actions.
