"Saratovneftgas" is going to double the capacity of Stepnovskaya GCS in a year

As the result of the reconstruction productivity of the station will be doubled:  from 250 thousand to 500 thousand cubic meters  of gas per day; it will permit to supply additional amounts of gas to the inhabitants of Saratov region.

The company specifies that the capacity will be built up stage by stage: in December 2009 - up to 360 cbm/day, in May-June 2010 - up to 500 cbm/day.

"Besides the growth of the volumes of gas supplied to consumers, the recounstruction will considerably raise the level of industrial security at GCS, and will help to raise the percentage of assosiated gas recovery. This will improve ecological situation in the areas of fucnctioning of "Saratovneftegas"  due to  reduction of the amounts of flared gas", - press-release of the company undrlines .

The large-scaled reconstruction of GCS was started in 2008. The first stage of the reconstruction included replacement of compressor cylinders, reconstruction of the lubrication  and ventilation systems, installation of automated control system. The second stage included reconsruction of the separation site, replacement of the reduction block and building a facility for storage of odorants.

Stepnovskaya GCS supplies gas from the gas fields of "Saratovneftegas" to Stepnovskoye underground gas storage, the largest one in Europe, power station of the city of Engels in Saratov region as well as to 30 settlements  of Sovietski, Rovenski and Engelski districts of the region.

"Saratovneftegas" is engaged in oil and gas production. At present the company is developing 43 oil-and gasfields at the territory of 14 districts of Saratov region, as well as in Staropoltavsky district of Volgograd region. Oil production volume in 2008 amounted to 1 milion 92.318 tons of gas - 427.997 million cubic meters.
