Orsk refinery processed 300 million tons of oil during 75 years
Orsk. OAO “Orsknefteorfsintez” , a subsidiary of NK “RussNeft” is celebrating a jubilee.
75 years ago the refinery received the first lot of oil supplied through the pipeline “Caspi- Orsk”. During the World War II each third ton of lubricants for fighting equipment was producred at Orsk refinery, named after the famous aviator Valeri Chkalov. For its great contribution in the Victory the team of the refinery was awarded the Great Patriotic War Order, firdt category, and for hard work in the years of peace – by many governmental awards.
During the 75 years Orsk refinery processed more than 300 million tons of oil. At present the selection of engineering processes of the company permits to produce about 30 kinds of high quality products, demanded both at domestic and foreign markets.
The team of ONOS met the jubilee with good results: oil processing in 2010 reached the level 0f 5 million 150 thousand tons which is the peak figure over recent years. Production of gasoline amounts to more than 750 thousand tons. Modernization of the production process is going on, the company implements nature protection measures, social programs. Industrial security is traditionally one of the priorities.
In 2010 “Orsknefteorgsintez” was acknowledged the leader of economy of Orsk.
Representatives of the company “RussNeft”, the governor of the region Yu. Berg, Head of the City V.Franz, heads of many plants and companies. came to congratulate the team on the event of the jubilee.
During the ceremony top performers were given 170 awards, 2200 veterans of the branch received financial consideration. Solemn meetings capped by concerts of Orenburg State Academic Russian Folk Choir, People]s Artist E. Shavrina were held in Orsk Drama Theater. The festive day ended by splendid fireworks.
