Izhevsk. ОАО «Belkamneft», a subsidiary enterprise of Oil and Gas Company «RussNeft», completed works on the in-line inspection of the submerged crossing of “Vyatka-Ashit” Oil Pipeline (3698 meters in length, 325х8 millimeters in diameter), with underwater crossing of the Kama River.

ILI (in-line inspection) was carried out in several stages, without interruption of pipeline operation. The preparatory stage included execution of works on cleaning and gauging of the shank bore, as well as a survey of the pipeline geometry. The final stage of ILI included the pipeline intervention of magnetic inspection bullet for metal losses measuring. The survey was carried on by a magnetic method of MFL, which for the moment is the most informative, because the survey is carried on with the high-resolution and allows to accurately diagnose and measure anomaly of pipe wall. According to the results of ILI, there weren’t found out failures and anomalies in internal diameter.
Underwater crossing of “Vyatka-Ashit” Oil Pipeline is in commercial operation since 2009 and is a unique construction for Udmurtia, judging by its length and the use of modern construction technologies. Thus, when constructing the underwater crossing of “Vyatka-Ashit” Oil Pipeline, there was applied innovative technology “pipe-in-pipe”, which significantly increased the level of environmental safety of the unit, allowed to eliminate the threat of penetration of oil products in water, and also made more producible the operational process of the pipeline.
