Saratovneftegaz held the XXIX Olympics

Teams representing all divisions and affiliates of OAO Saratovneftegaz fought for victory in three kinds of sport – mini-football, volleyball and tug-of-war. More than 200 sportsmen and fans participated in the Olympics.

Competitions among the divisions of OAO Saratovneftegaz are traditionally held twice per year. They follow intra-division competitions which winners vindicate honor of their colleagues at the Olympics.

The corporate sport is one of the priorities of OAO Saratovneftegaz social policy. Such activities allow each employee to feel a part of a solid team-oriented group with a common cause. It is to be noted that both regular employees and company managers compete head-to-head at the Olympics. Funds for training and competitions, sport equipment upgrade and purchase of prizes are provided within the social program of OAO Saratovneftegaz.

Following the results of the Olympics, the winning teams were awarded with cups and gift certificates for shopping in a popular sport goods outlet chain.

Support for the mass sport by the oil company is not limited by intra-corporate competitions. OAO Saratovneftegaz provides significant financial aid within its charity program for children sport schools and clubs of Saratov region: funds are allocated both for their equipment upgrade and for participation of young sport teams in competitions at all-Russia level. For example, by virtue of implementation of the Cooperation Agreement between Saratov region government and OAO NK RussNeft, hundreds of trainees of Saratov regional children sport club Urozhay (one of the biggest in the Russian Federation) benefit from free holidays in Rovesnik children recreation camp provided by OAO Saratovneftegaz. The holidays of the children are always rich of trainings; they have full-scale recreation, health care and sports skills upgrade.

Besides, a universal sport center was opened in Volgograd region Staropoltavsky municipal district center under financial participation of OAO Saratovneftegaz. 400 thousand rubles donated by the oil company as early as in 2010 were used for the modern sport center design and estimates work. The locals fond of sports got a possibility to play basketball, volleyball, handball, mini-football in conditions compliant with the most advanced standards. OAO Saratovneftegaz allocated other 500,000 rubles in 2011 within its charity program for development of the design and estimate documentation for a swimming pool in Staraya Poltavka to commence construction in near future.

OAO Saratovneftegaz intends to continue its charity activity and its “sports segment” will remain significant.
