Flourishing of art depends not only on artists but on art patrons too.
Nizhnevartovsky district, KhMAO. A balalaika, a clarinet, a saxophone, sound and light equipment. It is only a small part of charity gifts from Aganneftegasgeologia, a subsidiary of the oil company RussNeft. The company has for many years collaborated with local authorities of the region in the sphere of social problems solution. Recently a talented graduate of Novoagansk Art School and Surgut Music College, a student of St.-Petersburg conservatoire received from the head of the company a valuable instrument – a flute. Here is the from-the-spot report of our news-writer Irina Romanova.
Katya Parno, a girl of 22, does not believe her luck. She is holding a professional instrument – a flute produced in the far-away Japan. Her mother is thankfully recollecting:
“I am a nurse, and I can’t afford such an expensive instrument. That is why I approached the management of OAO MPC Aganneftegasgeologia with the request to help us. Really good instruments, with good sound-conduction have always been expensive. This flute will help us to study further and obtain a profession.”
The girl lost her heart for the rare instrument 15 years ago. At first she fumbled with the keys, tried to get used to the sound. Now she almost never parts with the flute. Some years ago experienced teachers taught her to breath in the right way. Now she can perform very complicated pieces. And besides, Katya thinks, a flute is a good psychotherapist.
“When I am in low spirits I start playing the flute. And in no time I get quiet and stop sulking”, says she.
“The today’s event is very important, because for the first time the company exercised a personal approach”, says the director of Novoagansk Children’s Art School Olga Panina. “It reminds me of Stanislavsky’s words:

According to Katya, her main task for today is to study well at the conservatoire, and in future - to work at a symphony orchestra.
